A structured adult outpatient psychotherapy/counselling pathway, delivered primarily by secure video across Saskatchewan. Professional referrals and self-referrals are accepted.

Referrers do not need to select a treatment track. STG makes that determination after clinical review.

For clients experiencing

  • generalized worry processes;
  • panic;
  • panic-related avoidance;
  • social/performance anxiety;
  • anxiety-related perfectionism;
  • fear-based procrastination;
  • reassurance and checking;
  • anxiety-related functional impairment.

Treatment model

Clients begin with clinical assessment and formulation, followed by mechanism-specific treatment and a formal outcome review after an initial six-session phase.

Treatment may include:

CBT formulation
behavioural experiments
exposure where indicated
reduction of avoidance
reduction of safety behaviours
uncertainty work
attention interventions
perfectionism-focused behavioural work
measurement-based care

Appropriate referrals

Consider referring adults who:

  • are experiencing clinically meaningful anxiety-related impairment;
  • are appropriate for outpatient virtual care;
  • want structured psychological treatment;
  • can participate in behavioural practice between appointments.

Referrals requiring additional review

Additional information or another level of care may be needed where there is:

  • significant acute risk;
  • psychosis;
  • mania;
  • severe substance dependence;
  • medical instability;
  • severe dissociation;
  • another presentation outside routine program scope.

What to include

Where available:

  • presenting concern
  • functional impairment
  • current diagnoses
  • medications
  • relevant medical information
  • current risk concerns
  • previous treatment
  • current providers
  • reason for referral

Differential care

Anxiety presentations can overlap substantially with ADHD, OCD, insomnia, depression, trauma and emotion regulation difficulties.

Where another STG specialty pathway is more appropriate, internal transfer may be recommended.

Anxiety screening & clinical review

$40

Complete a structured screening for anxiety-related symptoms and receive:

  • a clinician review of your results;
  • a brief written screening summary;
  • a short follow-up call to discuss recommendations.
Refer a client

A non-refundable $40 screening fee applies after submission unless the screening is covered through an approved funding arrangement such as NIHB. This is a screening and clinical review service, not a formal diagnostic assessment.
